Local requirements
Certification and council rules in Ku-ring-gai
Ku-ring-gai has extensive heritage conservation areas and some of the strongest tree protection controls in Sydney, and both routinely push pool applications out of the fast-track pathway into full development consent. A mature tree within the excavation zone can require an arborist report before the application is even assessed. Owners here should check the planning overlays on their property before commissioning a design, because the design itself may need to change.
