What drives the price in Fairfield
- From $25,000 for a plunge or compact fibreglass pool installed.
- Full-size fibreglass $45,000–$85,000 · concrete $65,000–$110,000.
- Excavation is the biggest local variable — soil and slope, not the shell.
- Most quotes exclude fencing, paving and landscaping. Get that in writing.
- Approval runs 3–10 weeks before anything is dug.

Certification and council rules in Fairfield
Fairfield has a large stock of established housing on regular blocks, which usually keeps excavation straightforward, but many boundary fences predate current barrier expectations. Timber palings with horizontal rails on the neighbour's side sit inside the non-climbable zone and are climbable, and that is a compliance problem the pool owner inherits without controlling the fence. Fairfield also sits far enough inland to avoid coastal corrosion, so gate hardware here tends to last the full three years — which paradoxically means owners check it less often and are more surprised when a latch finally fails at inspection.
