Certification and council rules in Townsville
Townsville's dry tropics climate gives near year-round pool use, while the November-to-April cyclone season brings the same barrier risk seen across northern Queensland — storm damage to fences and gates leaves a pool non-compliant from the moment it occurs. Townsville also has a substantial defence-related rental population with frequent tenancy turnover, and in Queensland each new tenancy triggers the pool safety certificate requirement afresh.
