- Approval runs 3–10 weeks before anything is dug.

Certification and council rules in Bundaberg
Bundaberg has near year-round swimming weather and a cyclone season running roughly November to April. Cyclone exposure is a barrier issue: wind damage to fences and gates is common, and a gate that no longer self-closes after a storm leaves the pool non-compliant from that moment rather than at the next inspection. Bundaberg also has a substantial rental market, and in Queensland leasing triggers the certificate requirement afresh with each new tenancy. A landlord with regular turnover certifies far more often than an owner-occupier next door.
