- Who can inspect: Registered inspector
- Triggered by: Fixed cycle, not the transaction
- Lodgement: Yes -- within 30 days of issue
The Building Regulations 2018 require registration with your council. Council notifies you in writing of the date your next certificate of barrier compliance is due, and the certificate must be lodged within 30 days of the inspector issuing it. Victoria's building regulator is now the Building and Plumbing Commission; older guidance still says Victorian Building Authority.
